Position Overview
We’re on the lookout for a dedicated ICT SPED teacher who will team up with a general education teacher in an inclusive classroom setting. Your mission? To create a supportive learning environment where every student thrives. You’ll co-plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to various learning styles, adapt your teaching methods on the fly, and develop meaningful interventions that resonate with students. We believe in the power of education—not just for academic achievement but for building character and ensuring that our students are well-prepared for college and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a challenging academic curriculum that meets New York State standards.
- Create an engaging learning atmosphere that inspires students’ curiosity and excitement.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers as part of a cohesive team, always striving for personal and professional growth.
- Regularly assess student progress and communicate findings with families and colleagues.
- Provide tailored individual or small group instruction to support students needing extra help.
- Embody a “whatever it takes” philosophy to help each student succeed.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills that foster collaboration and reflect our core values: zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Valid New York State teacher certification in your subject area.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A strong enthusiasm for being part of a mission-driven, team-oriented school community.
- A commitment to continuous improvement as an educator through engagement with the KIPP NYC network.
- Proven success in enhancing academic outcomes for students from diverse communities.
What We Offer:
KIPP NYC values its teachers and provides a competitive salary range of $69,440 to $142,270 annually. This salary is based on a fair scale that considers your experience, certification levels, and commitment to our mission.
