We’re currently looking for a Senior Executive Director for Public Safety Technologies to join our team. This role is crucial to our efforts in maintaining and enhancing citywide public safety information systems. You’ll be reporting directly to the Deputy Commissioner for Public Safety & Emergency Management, and will steer day-to-day operations in this fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage technical teams focused on day-to-day operations of public safety technologies.
- Establish and enforce policies and best practices for public safety tech.
- Oversee and refine the IT models across our public safety technology portfolio.
- Create and implement strategies to boost the reliability, uptime, and resiliency of our public safety tech solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior-level technical managers.
- Prepare and deliver technical data insights and reports for management.
- Manage relationships with Public Safety IT vendors to ensure optimal service.
- Develop a comprehensive technical strategy including staff development, budgeting, technology upgrades, and vendor management.
- Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.
About the Work Environment:
Please note that this position requires flexibility in work hours due to the 24/7 nature of our operations. Your responsibilities may occasionally require being on call or working weekends and evenings.

Qualifications:

Option 1: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with 24 credits in telecommunications or a related field, plus four years of relevant experience. This should include at least one year in a highly specialized role and 18 months in a managerial capacity.

Option 2: An associate degree plus 12 credits in telecommunications or a related field, along with five years of relevant experience.
- Option 3: A combination of education and experience equivalent to Option 1, with a minimum education of a four-year high school diploma and specialized experience.
