About the Role
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and driven Principal Product Manager who will help shape the future of AI capabilities within our products, tailored specifically for our Security and Observability customers. You’ll be at the forefront of integrating generative AI and machine learning, with a particular focus on enhancing cybersecurity. In this pivotal role, you’ll define essential features and the strategic roadmap necessary to deliver scalable and high-performance AI solutions to our users and app developers.
You’ll leverage your expertise in building products using generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and advanced machine learning techniques. If you have hands-on experience with MLOps, AIOps, PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLflow, and ONNX, and you’re skilled in applying cutting-edge ML capabilities to empower Splunk customers to work efficiently, you could be just the person we need!
As part of the AI Product Management team in the Office of the CTO, it’s essential to have a knack for addressing the unique needs of our Security, AI, and Platform engineers. If you’re experienced in cross-functional AI integrations, we’re excited to hear from you!
You’ll blend customer needs, business objectives, and technical intricacies while collaborating with various teams to ensure that customer insights are directly integrated into our development process and product lifecycle. Experience working closely with GTM partners and design partners will be a bonus!

What You’ll Be Doing:
In the fast-paced environment of a growing company, your daily responsibilities will span the entire product lifecycle. You’ll interact with customers, sales, engineering teams, and our global partner network. Here’s a peek into your contributions:
- Team up with fellow AI Product Managers to ensure comprehensive AI integration across our product offerings.
- Engage with customers to gather insights, understand their needs, and uncover opportunities for improvement.
- Develop product roadmaps that reflect the voices of our customers and the emerging market and technology trends.
- Create product specifications, user stories, mockups, and acceptance criteria, both independently and collaboratively with engineering and design teams.
- Work closely with Support, NOC, and field teams to tackle customer challenges and drive positive business outcomes.
- Collaborate with the QA, SRE, and release teams to plan, drive, and execute product launches.
- Partner with product marketing to craft compelling content around our innovations.
- Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, and Finance to ensure our products meet security and legal standards while achieving financial goals.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of product management experience with a proven track record.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in delivering AI services, machine learning platforms, and generative AI.
- A genuine empathy for understanding customer pain points and enhancing user experiences.
- Strong analytical thinking skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, especially when it comes to simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- The ability to identify and resolve systemic obstacles hindering the team’s ability to deliver high-quality products.
- A commitment to continuous improvement by acting as a customer advocate and collaborating closely with various teams.

Nice-To-Have Qualifications:
- Experience building scalable AI capabilities across platforms that support multiple products, especially in the generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning domains.
- A track record of launching impactful products that incorporate AI solutions leading to tangible customer value and business growth.
- In-depth understanding of the AI and cybersecurity landscape.
- Knowledge of anomaly detection and its relevance to security and observability use cases.
- A focus on continuous product improvement throughout each phase of the product lifecycle.
- Experience in developing pricing strategies that enhance business growth.
- Strong negotiation skills paired with the ability to build trust within teams and with stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset, creativity, innovation, and a data-informed approach to product decisions.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and agile software development methodologies.
- A passion for solving intriguing technical challenges and creating user-friendly enterprise products.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, is essential. An MBA or similar advanced degree is highly desirable.
