What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assess individual student needs and craft personalized Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that set them up for success.
- Adapt lesson plans and materials to accommodate different learning styles and challenges.
- Utilize a variety of engaging instructional strategies to keep students motivated and involved in their learning.
- Establish and maintain clear rules and procedures to create a positive classroom environment.
- Keep detailed records of student progress and achievements, ensuring everything is up to date.
- Prepare and submit essential reports that reflect student progress and needs.
- Foster strong communication with parents and collaborate effectively with fellow staff members.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, along with a valid special education license.
- Prior experience in a special education setting is a plus, but a genuine enthusiasm for teaching is what matters most.
- A solid understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and related conditions, with the ability to adapt to various needs.
- A grasp of child development principles, classroom management techniques, and educational best practices.
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation standards—and a commitment to maintaining them.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, that help you connect with students, parents, and colleagues alike.
