As an Engineering Manager at Headway, you’ll be a key leader, guiding and developing your team to ensure alignment across processes and products. You’ll also play a crucial role in scaling innovative solutions and driving growth through trusted platforms, SEO, and referral systems. Your leadership will empower teams to help patients discover the care they need while developing a robust and impactful product ecosystem.
Who You Are
We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic, relationship-focused engineering leaders who thrive on driving results and enabling their teams to achieve technical excellence. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, shaping the direction of our engineering organization. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mission-driven leader to make a significant impact as we scale rapidly. Here are the key responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a team of 6 or more engineers
- Ensure process and product alignment within your team
- Foster your team’s growth through mentorship and regular check-ins
- Identify and develop future engineering leaders
- Contribute to the overall company strategy and product roadmap
- Assist in growing our engineering team, expanding from 80 to 120+ in the coming year
What You Bring to the Table
We’re looking for individuals with:
- 4-6+ years of experience in Engineering Management
- 3-5+ years hands-on experience as a Software Engineer
- A solid product mindset paired with strong cross-functional relationship skills
- A technical foundation strong enough to guide your team in making sound technical decisions
- A track record of leading high-performing teams delivering impactful business outcomes
- Effective collaboration across various teams and functions
- Bonus points if you have experience with Python, React, or AWS infrastructure, or have worked in health tech.

Compensation and Benefits
- Starting salary for Engineering Managers is $200,000, with potential to reach $238,000 based on experience.
