Position Overview
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Network Engineer to join our amazing team. You’ll play a crucial role in delivering top-notch networking solutions and support for our Managed Service clients. Your job will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network environments. You’ll work closely with our diverse team, including Project Managers, Cybersecurity Engineers, and Systems Engineers, to make sure network onboarding, upgrades, and support run smoothly.
The ideal candidate will have a solid grounding in networking fundamentals, hands-on experience with Cisco devices, and a knack for problem-solving. Communication skills are just as important, as you’ll be interfacing with clients to ensure high-quality service delivery and overall satisfaction. You’ll also help drive our network automation efforts and contribute to security enhancements. Plus, you’ll be part of our monthly on-call rotation, tackling network incidents as they arise. Work Environment
- This hybrid position is based out of our New York City office. You’ll primarily work from home, but you can expect to be on-site about 1 to 3 days a week, either in our office or at client locations around the New York metro area.
- We offer a full-time role with a competitive salary starting at $100K+, along with great benefits, training, paid vacation, and bonus participation.
What We’re Looking For
Key Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Good grasp of the OSI model and its real-world applications.
- Strong understanding of IP networking basics (like IP address subnetting, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Cisco switch configurations.
- Familiarity with firewall configurations (any vendor).
- Ability to troubleshoot networking issues with minimal guidance.
- Basic Wi-Fi knowledge (like frequency, SSID, and channels).
- Experience: 2-3 years in a networking role; ideally no more than 5 years.
- Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent knowledge.
Soft Skills:
- Strong critical thinking and reflective thinking.
- Clear communication skills, especially when working with clients.
- Ability to excel both independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for networking technologies and a desire to grow your skill set.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Nice to Have:
Technical Skills:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- Experience with Python programming or network automation.
- Familiarity with Azure networking (AZ-700) could be a plus.
- A degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Industry Experience:
- Previous experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
Daily Tasks:

New Client Network Onboarding:
- Work with Onboarding Project Managers and System Engineers.
- Communicate with clients to gather their needs and provide updates.
- Discover existing environments and create documentation for upgrades.
- Manage circuit activations and configure client network equipment.
- Set up monitoring for the Network Operations Center (NOC).
- Document the network and support senior engineers remotely.

Managed Service Tickets Handling:
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues on-site or remotely.
- Keep clients and internal teams updated on progress.

Office Moves / Network Hardware Upgrades:
- Collaborate with Account Managers to gather requirements.
- Plan and implement network migrations for relocations.
- Upgrade hardware with minimal downtime and suggest improvements.

Network Security:
- Partner with our Cyber Security team on vulnerability remediation.
- Plan and execute upgrade stages.

Network Automation:
- Use Python or Ansible to automate routine tasks.
- Help develop solutions for network management and configuration.
- On-Call Rotation:
- Be available for 24/7 NOC Tier1/Tier2 escalation on a Severity 1 incident once a month.
Expected Accomplishments:
- Ensure client networks are stable and secure.
- Deliver high-quality service and support on time.
- Collaborate effectively with the Network team.
- Foster connection and teamwork with Project Managers, System Engineers, Cyber Security Engineers, and Account Managers.
