Job Summary
Join our team as an Assistant Store Manager, where you’ll partner with the Store Manager and Manager in Training to recruit, hire, train, and guide our amazing staff. Together, we’ll work to achieve store and individual sales targets while managing costs and safeguarding company assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Smash those store and personal sales goals, setting the bar high for performance.
- Help bring in top-notch talent that meets our in-store needs.
- Train and develop a team of sales superstars who are ready to shine.
- Offer constructive feedback, coaching, and accountability to ensure everyone is aligned with our company policies.
- Implement company initiatives and maintain our high standards.
- Spot talent and nurture them for future growth within the company.
- Step up to manage daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or Manager in Training.
- Keep an eye on Loss Prevention practices when needed.
- Communicate store needs effectively to your leadership team.
- Resolve customer concerns gracefully and efficiently.
- Provide a memorable, fun shopping experience for all our customers.
- Handle cash deposits with care.
- Embrace and embody the Journeys culture in everything you do.
Qualifications
- Previous retail management experience is preferred.
- A background of 6-12 months in retail sales is ideal.
- You should possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- A go-getter mindset that thrives in a bustling retail environment.
- A strong desire to learn and grow within the company.
- Completion of relevant training programs leading up to the Co-Manager role or equivalent experience.
- Able to commit to a week of 45 hours, including nights and weekends.
- Must be comfortable climbing, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- You’ll need the stamina to stand for long periods.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old.*
