POSITION OVERVIEW:
In this role, the RN Manager will take the reins in overseeing our nursing staff and ensuring that our patients receive top-notch, patient-centered care. You’ll play an essential part in coordinating clinical operations with our medical director, implementing nursing protocols, and ensuring our practices align with healthcare regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Management:
- Supervise and uplift our nursing team, which includes RNs, LPNs, and MAs.
- Provide regular feedback through performance evaluations and coaching.
- Optimize staffing schedules to ensure efficient coverage and move resources effectively.
Clinical Oversight:
- Ensure that our clinical practices meet established protocols and standards for excellent patient care.
- Work closely with physicians and nurse practitioners to fine-tune patient care plans.
- Help with patient triage to prioritize needs and maintain workflow in a fast-paced environment.
- Administer vaccines and medications as required, particularly during busy times.
- Monitor clinical operations to enhance efficiency, quickly addressing any bottlenecks.
- Partner with nursing staff to tackle immediate patient care needs and streamline processes.
Quality Improvement:
- Create and roll out initiatives to enhance patient care quality and outcomes.
- Swiftly handle any eCW web encounters to ensure timely resolution.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that our operations meet federal, state, and local regulations, as well as specific FQHC guidelines.
- Take an active role in audits and inspections to sustain operational integrity.
- Keep clinical documentation accurate and up to date.
Education and Training:
- Collaborate with our education team to reinforce protocols that improve patient outcomes.
- Identify training opportunities that cultivate a culture of learning and professional growth among the nursing staff.
- Participate in the hiring process to bring on board qualified nursing personnel.
- Help with onboarding new hires to ensure a smooth transition for our team.
Patient and Family Engagement:
- Promote a patient-centric approach that encourages patients and their families to participate in their care decisions.
- Develop strategies to enhance patient education and health literacy, empowering patients to take charge of their health.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A nursing degree from an accredited institution (BSN preferred).
- A current Registered Nurse license in New York State.
- A valid CPR certification or a plan to obtain one within six months of employment.
- Three to five years of clinical nursing experience.
- One to two years in a supervisory or management role is preferred.
- Experience working in a primary care or community health setting, especially within an FQHC, is a plus.
