Key Responsibilities:
As a key player at our facility, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the nursing unit operates smoothly and safely 24/7
- Monitoring compliance through medical record reviews
- Conducting regular rounds and addressing any environmental concerns
- Assigning duties and supervising both licensed and ancillary staff
- Keeping tabs on all happenings in the unit by communicating regularly with staff across all shifts
- Assessing the need for additional equipment and resources
You’ll also oversee the patient care process:
- Lead interdisciplinary meetings to help develop effective care plans
- Collaborate with a range of healthcare professionals to optimize clinical management
- Participate in audits and discharge planning
You’ll be the go-to for addressing patient and family concerns:
- Document incidents accurately and recommend actions to prevent future occurrences
- Collaborate with security for any allegations of abuse and help with investigations
Additionally, you’ll be responsible for staffing:
- Design efficient work schedules that ensure appropriate staffing levels and mix
- Communicate staffing needs effectively, ensuring implementation and follow-up
Finally, you will manage clinical care and emergency responses:
- Evaluate all admissions for compliance
- Assess any reported incidents and potential injuries
- Ensure all medical procedures comply with established policies
- Respond promptly to emergency situations while providing robust leadership
Qualifications:
What are we looking for? Ideally, you’ll bring:
- A BSN from an accredited nursing school (or equivalent education and experience)
- A minimum of 4 years in clinical practice, with at least 2 years in a management role, particularly in a geriatric setting
Salary Range:
- Minimum: USD $72,000 / Year
- Maximum: USD $90,000 / Year
