Your Role: Solutions Engineer for Strategic Accounts
In our Solutions Engineering organization, we take on the important task of technically selling Cloudflare’s suite of solutions, ensuring our clients see maximum value through tailored designs and adoption strategies.
As the Solutions Engineer focusing on Strategic Accounts, you’ll play a pivotal role in our mission. Reporting to our Senior Director of Solution Engineering, you’ll be at the forefront of customer engagement, interfacing with decision-makers and technology enthusiasts alike. Your experience managing large account pre-sales will be invaluable as you articulate Cloudflare’s vision and mission to C-level executives.
Your primary goals will include cultivating passionate advocates within the tech teams at your accounts, driving sales opportunities, and utilizing your existing relationships to develop new revenue streams.
You’ll be collaborating closely with a dedicated team pursuing some of our most strategic accounts, all while working alongside our strategic account executives.
What We’re Excited for You to Do:
- Build and nurture long-lasting technical relationships with key stakeholders—everyone from executives to individual contributors—becoming their go-to advisor.
- Gain a deep understanding of the critical challenges faced by your accounts, offering solutions that validate Cloudflare’s role in their infrastructure and coordinating with your colleagues throughout the sales process.
- Create connections across various business lines to uncover additional revenue opportunities, demonstrating value in all facets of the organization.
- Assist customers as they navigate their security and network transformations, helping them strategize and implement security measures aligned with our product offerings.
- Act as the voice of the customer within Cloudflare, collaborating with our Product and Engineering teams to align our solutions with their needs.
- Represent Cloudflare at industry events, showcasing your expertise and thought leadership in areas like technology and cybersecurity.
What You Bring to the Table:
Here are some of the skill sets that would make you a great fit:
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities that enable you to engage with a wide range of stakeholders—from developers to CISOs.
- Proven relationship-building skills, with a track record of forming deep technical relationships in large, strategic accounts, particularly around security solutions.
- Experience managing technical sales processes within large accounts.
- A knack for developing champion relationships, driving technical wins, and assisting with validation processes.
- A solid understanding of core Cloudflare solutions and a willingness to deepen that knowledge, including:
- Internet security technologies, such as DDoS mitigation, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Networking concepts covering TCP, DNS, IPv4/IPv6, and more.
- HTTP technologies, including reverse proxies and secure web gateways.
- Zero-trust network access principles and cloud computing technologies like AWS and Azure.
- Some familiarity with programming or scripting languages, such as JavaScript or Python.
- An understanding of regulatory requirements like GDPR and PCI DSS.
Compensation
Your compensation will reflect your location:
- For those based in Maryland: Estimated annual salary ranges from $208,000 to $254,000.
- For New York City and Washington D.C.: Estimated annual salary ranges from $211,000 to $254,000.
This position also offers eligibility for incentive compensation under Cloudflare’s Sales Compensation Plan. The anticipated salary includes potential earnings from the incentive.
Equity
