What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our development efforts alongside our Berlin-based team, contributing throughout the entire product lifecycle—from initial architecture to ongoing production support. Your main focus? Crafting top-notch, high-performance Java-based backend components that are built to handle the demands of low latency in trading. Here’s a sneak peek at some of your responsibilities:
- Dive into business requirements to perform thorough technical analyses and design robust solutions.
- Prototype innovative features aimed at meeting business needs while solving complex technical issues.
- Play a key role in shaping the future architecture of our systems.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, and gear up to lead a sub-team as needed.
- Partner with our quality assurance (QA) team on test automation and engage with the DevOps crew to refine our software development lifecycle (SDLC) and environment management.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- A solid grounding in math, backed by a strong understanding of algorithms and complexity.
- Proficiency in core Java, especially in areas like collections, multi-threading, and networking.
- Experience with fault-tolerant systems and load balancing, along with skills in enhancing the performance of multi-threaded Java applications.
- A familiarity with Linux, SQL databases, and messaging solutions.

Salary and Accommodations
For this position in New York City, salary ranges from $100,000 to $142,250. We base actual salaries on a variety of factors, such as your skills, experience, and qualifications.
