Are you ready to take your expertise in cybersecurity to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Principal Product Specialist to be the driving force behind our Splunk Security Products. In this role, you’ll be the go-to technical and strategic expert, collaborating with customers, field teams, and product managers to accelerate product adoption and help shape our vision. Your deep understanding of technology, knack for simplifying complex security issues, and genuine passion for cybersecurity are essential to making a difference in this role.
???? Key Responsibilities
Boost Product Adoption & Drive Business Impact:
Engage with our customers and internal teams to foster a strong adoption of Splunk SOAR. Your initiatives will play a critical role in enhancing customer loyalty and boosting renewal rates by ensuring our clients get the most out of their investment. You’ll also help us develop a framework for tracking how new features are used across our Splunk Security products, linking their usage to broader workflows for clearer insights into customer engagement. Leveraging this data, you’ll partner with product managers to target opportunities and prioritize features that really matter to our customers.
Customer Engagement & Engaging Demonstrations:
Become a trusted advisor for our clients, guiding them to extract maximum value from Splunk’s security solutions. You’ll deliver engaging and hands-on product demonstrations showcasing our full suite, including Splunk SOAR, Splunk Attack Analyzer, and Splunk Enterprise Security. Ready to roll up your sleeves? You’ll also support high-stakes proof-of-concept engagements, helping customers validate our solutions in real-world settings.
Product Advocacy:
You’ll gather invaluable feedback from customers and field teams, shaping our product roadmap and feature development. If our clients face immediate challenges, you’ll provide creative interim solutions while lobbying for long-term enhancements with our Product Management team. By working closely with Engineering and Product, you’ll ensure that customer needs translate into compelling future releases.
Field Enablement:
Be the catalyst for crafting content and resources that empower other teams to drive product adoption effectively. Your collaboration with the competitive intelligence team will ensure our messaging stays relevant, up-to-date with market trends, competitor insights, and emerging security challenges.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work hand-in-hand with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to refine our messaging, enhance user experiences, and optimize our product’s fit in the market.
Thought Leadership:
Represent Splunk at industry events, conferences, and webinars, showcasing the power and impact of Splunk Security.
???? What We’re Looking For
Expertise in Splunk SOAR & Security Automation (Required): You should have hands-on experience designing, implementing, and fine-tuning Splunk SOAR playbooks tailored for intricate security use cases.
Deep Understanding of Security Operations & Incident Response (Required): You possess a strong background in SOAR, SIEM, threat intelligence, and SOC workflows, along with proficient incident response skills.
Knowledge of the Cybersecurity Product Landscape: Familiarity with various cybersecurity solutions, such as network security and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), is key in integrating these tools into comprehensive security workflows.
Advanced Scripting & Automation Skills (Required): Proficiency in Python, APIs, and automation frameworks is essential for building and optimizing security playbooks.
Customer-Facing Experience (Required): A history of working directly with clients, driving success in high-pressure security scenarios, and influencing key purchasing decisions to meet their goals.
Strong Communication Skills (Required): The ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear business value, engaging stakeholders across all levels.
Background in Product Management, Pre-Sales, or Technical Advocacy: Proven success in customer-facing technical roles within the cybersecurity domain, with experience steering product direction and assisting clients on their security journeys.

Base Pay Range:
- SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area: $181,200 – $249,150 per year
- California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts: $163,080 – $224,235 per year
- Other locations excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, NYC Metro, and Washington DC Metro: $144,960 – $199,320 per year
