Join Our Team as a Senior System Administrator for Mainframe Application Support!
Location: New York City (10007)
Contract Duration: 6 months
Schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote
Eligibility: Candidates should already reside in the NYC area. US Citizenship or Green Card required.
Who We Are:
We’re on the lookout for a dedicated Senior System Administrator to support our Integrated Property Information System (IPIS). This role is essential to keeping our legacy systems running smoothly, enabling our Real Estate Services (RES) team to do their best work.
What You Bring:
Must-Have Skills:
- Experience: A solid 5 years of hands-on experience in transitioning legacy systems to modern technology.
- Lifecycle Knowledge: Familiarity with the complete software lifecycle, from gathering requirements to implementation and ongoing support.
- SQL Expertise: At least 5 years of practical experience with SQL Server.
- Technical Insight: Ability to comprehend data and database design.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Performance Optimization: Experience in tuning performance and troubleshooting using various tools.
- Data Mapping Experience: Familiarity with system and data mapping and conversion.
- Programming Exposure: Any background in COBOL, SAS, REXX, or .NET is a bonus!
- Project Management Tools: Knowledge of using SharePoint and/or MS OneDrive for project documents.
- DevOps/JIRA: Experience with JIRA and DevOps practices will set you apart.
What You’ll Do:
As our Senior System Administrator, you’ll manage and maintain the current IPIS mainframe systems. Your expertise will support various processes to ensure our system operates seamlessly for all users. Here’s a glimpse of your responsibilities:
- System Management: Oversee the maintenance of the IPIS legacy systems and run crucial system processes.
- Feature Development: Assist in creating new features and facilitating the transition to updated systems.
- Data Extraction: Extract data from our mainframe applications (e.g., ADABAS, COBOL, CICS) and convert it into usable formats.
- Data Transport: Conduct file transfers from mainframe to Windows servers using UC4.
- Integration: Load data into CRM/Dynamics 365 utilizing your SQL server skills, managing queries, and leveraging integration tools.
- Troubleshooting: Address any system issues and ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, consultants, and business users to ensure a seamless transition to the new system, participating in system analysis and design discussions along the way.
