Job Opportunity: Technology Regulatory Affairs Specialist at a Leading New York Bank
Are you ready to make your mark in the world of financial technology? Our client, a prominent bank situated in the heart of New York City, is on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Technology Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join their team.
This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary ranging from $170,000 to $195,000, along with a fantastic benefits package and a target bonus. You’ll enjoy a hybrid work model, giving you the flexibility to work up to two or three days a week from the office.
About the Role:
As a Technology Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you’ll be a key player in championing compliance and navigating the ever-evolving regulatory landscape. This role combines technical know-how with regulatory acumen and outstanding communication skills. Your contributions will be crucial in helping the bank respond effectively to regulatory examinations and inquiries.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Collaborating with Stakeholders:
Team up with various internal departments—like IT, Risk, Compliance, and Audit—to gather and analyze data for regulatory exams and ad-hoc requests. Your efforts will ensure we meet regulatory deadlines with precision. -
Managing Regulatory Submissions:
Oversee the complete process of preparing submissions for regulatory bodies, ensuring they align with both technology and compliance requirements. Keeping detailed documentation and engagement logs will be part of your responsibility. -
Understanding IT Controls:
Dive deep into the bank’s IT control frameworks to ensure we meet regulatory expectations. Your insights will help us enhance control effectiveness and proactively mitigate risks. - Developing Presentations:
Craft and deliver polished presentations that convey complex technical information in a way that’s accessible and engaging for executive and regulatory audiences. Clarity and direct communication will be your top priorities.
Who You Are:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (a master’s degree or relevant certifications would be an added bonus).
- You possess a solid foundation in IT controls and regulatory compliance in the financial sector, including familiarity with frameworks like COBIT, NIST, or ISO.
- You thrive in high-pressure situations and are adept at meeting deadlines without compromising accuracy.
- You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, often creating presentations that impress and inform.
- You’re comfortable with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and various collaboration tools.
- Experience with regulatory bodies, such as the Federal Reserve Bank or the Department of Financial Services, is a plus, along with a strong understanding of banking regulations.
- Lastly, you have a knack for building relationships and influencing diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a regulatory affairs or IT governance role within the finance industry.
- A keen interest in emerging technologies such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, along with their regulatory impacts.
- A background in consulting related to IT Risk Management or Technology Regulation is desired.
