We are looking for a Senior PeopleSoft Upgrade Specialist to help enhance the NYCAPS PeopleSoft application that supports our vibrant community of active city employees and retirees. What You’ll Be Doing:
In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of our upgrade initiatives, ensuring a smooth transition to a newer version of the PeopleSoft platform. Here’s a glimpse of your day-to-day responsibilities:
- Execute critical upgrade scripts, configure systems, and adapt code, web services, interfaces, and reports to usher in the upgraded NYCAPS experience for our active and retired staff.
- Handle the installation, maintenance, and configuration of PeopleSoft, PeopleTools, and the necessary Middleware infrastructure. Your skills will be vital in supporting key citywide applications, including NYCAPS and its related systems.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Lead and project teams to coordinate upgrade efforts. You’ll be pivotal in ensuring all upgrade activities are completed on schedule while juggling various priorities.
What You’ll Bring:
We’re looking for someone with a robust background in PeopleSoft. Here are the qualifications that will make you a great fit:
- At least 10 years of experience working with various versions of PeopleSoft and PeopleTools, particularly in HCM modules.
- Proven expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a track record of successfully executing multiple upgrades and patch installations using Change Assistant and PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM).
- Solid understanding of PeopleSoft HCM applications (notably v 9.2 PUM 39+ with fluid technology) and PeopleSoft Tools (v 8.59+).
- Hands-on experience with middleware products such as Oracle WebLogic, PeopleSoft AppDesigner, and Oracle SQL.
- Strong capability to engage with diverse business lines to understand customizations and their impact on project timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Oracle PeopleSoft security solutions.
- Skills in driving the evolution of PeopleSoft security infrastructure while working with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions.
- Familiarity with server virtualization, PeopleSoft debugging, and PeopleSoft performance tuning.
- Knowledge of integrating PeopleSoft with Oracle RAC Architecture.
- Proficiency in UNIX, preferably AIX, and a knack for planning and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in large-scale, enterprise-wide implementations.
- Previous work in a matrix environment.
- Certification in PeopleSoft Upgrade Administration.
- Expertise in CA Tool, PUM, as well as Shell scripting and SQL.
- Experience with the New York City Automated Personnel System (NYCAPS) is a plus.
Education Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical/business field is required.
