Join Our Team:
As part of the Housing Preservation & Development Technology (HPD Tech), you’re stepping into an IT environment that is determined to revolutionize how we deliver services. Your Role:
As our new Cloud Computing Engineer, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will play a key part in shaping HPD’s cloud infrastructure. You’ll be at the forefront of our technological transformation, managing and administering our Azure Cloud Services to create robust, scalable solutions that meet our organization’s needs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- You’ll design, implement, and monitor innovative cloud infrastructure and network solutions.
- Work collaboratively with IT teams to maintain and enhance our mission-critical infrastructure, ensuring the security and accessibility of sensitive data.
- Lead initiatives in building and optimizing New York City’s Microsoft Azure domain network.
- Plan and execute both new infrastructure projects and necessary design changes to improve our cloud capabilities.
- Act as a go-to expert for all things related to cloud computing, networks, and virtualization, providing training and guidance to fellow team members.
- Manage data protection strategies, ensuring our disaster recovery plans are comprehensive and well-tested.
- Oversee IT asset inventories, working closely with stakeholders to ensure the availability of necessary infrastructure solutions.
What We’re Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should have an Azure Administrator Associate Certification (or equivalent) and a strong grasp of both the technical and operational aspects of cloud management.
Key Skills:
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), networking, storage, and security within Azure environments.
- Operational Know-How: Ability to scale and troubleshoot Kubernetes, manage Azure resources, and ensure high availability.
- Soft Skills: Be a great collaborator, communicator, and problem-solver with a knack for time management and prioritization.
Bonus Skills:
While not a must-have, experience with other cloud providers (like AWS or GCP), proficiency in programming languages (C#, Java, Python), and any relevant Kubernetes or Azure certifications would definitely make you stand out!
Education & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and four years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience that meets these criteria will be considered.
