Role Overview:
We’re seeking a passionate Software Engineer to join our Observability AI team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in developing full-stack applications that enhance Splunk’s Observability offerings. Your contributions will directly support our customers as they strive for digital resilience. You’ll work closely with teams across the company, helping to shape the roadmap for this vital area of our business.

What You’ll Do:
- Team up with product owners and designers to refine the design and execution of our products. As a full-stack developer, you’ll be involved in creating both front and backend systems.
- Break down product requirements and complex technical tasks into manageable sprint-sized units while providing accurate work estimates.
- Engage in comprehensive architecture reviews and discussions with the larger team, influencing the overall design of our products.
- Design software that can be efficiently tested, develop test plans, and automate test cases while improving test frameworks as needed.
- Actively develop product features that emphasize reusability, modularity, and scalability in your design approach.
- Adhere to best practices in software development and participate in thoughtful code reviews.
- Be part of on-call rotations, conduct post-incident reviews, and take on operational tasks to ensure we deliver stable services.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with modern web frameworks, such as React or Angular.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with backend development using Python and/or Java.
- Experience working with RESTful web services.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), as well as tools and version control systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) is a significant plus.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, along with at least 2 years of industry experience.

Note: Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay Range:
- San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro: $119,200 – $163,900 per year
- California (excluding the SF Bay Area), Washington (excluding Seattle Metro), Washington D.C. Metro Area, and Massachusetts: $107,280 – $147,510 per year
- Other locations: $95,360 – $131,120 per year
We’re committed to offering flexibility in work arrangements, whether remote or in-office. Our pay structure is market-based and varies by location, so keep in mind these ranges are guidelines, and your actual base pay will depend on factors like your skills and experience. Additionally, this role includes opportunities for incentive compensation, equity options, and a long-term cash award.
