What We’re Looking For:
We’re kicking off an exciting new venture in electronic trading focused on US rates, and we need a seasoned Java developer to be part of this groundbreaking project. If you’re passionate about creating a low-latency trading platform, this could be a unique opportunity to shape something from the ground up. You’ll have the chance to collaborate directly with trading and quantitative teams, using modern technologies to enhance trading capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business and tech partners to forge and enhance architecture for our low-latency electronic trading platform, encompassing both production and research facets.
- Develop and implement the initial core components of the trading platform, steering it towards a successful minimum viable product launch.
- Post-launch, work hand-in-hand with our partners to continuously refine and enhance the platform.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to our dynamic development team.
- Utilize top-tier software tools and methodologies to ensure code and system quality, flexibility, and security remain top-notch.
- Engage in every stage of the software delivery lifecycle, from analysis through ongoing support.
What You’ll Need:
- Over 10 years of hands-on experience as a Senior Java Developer in enterprise environments.
- A proven background in asynchronous, event-driven programming and concurrency.
- Solid experience in project design and delivery, with the ability to navigate partnerships across various organizational areas.
- Proficiency in Java (JDK 11 or 17) and a strong understanding of low latency, high throughput trading applications.
- Familiarity with any RDBMS is beneficial, particularly for backend development.
- A deep understanding of core Java, low latency, and distributed computing solutions/architectures, particularly in trading, pricing, and OMS/EMS for fixed-income products.
- Experience with platforms like ION or Bloomberg is a plus, but not essential.
Bonus Points For:
- If you have experience in designing and supporting low-latency trading applications, that’s great! But we’re also open to exceptional Java developers who may not have that specific background.
- Familiarity with tools like Spring, Apache Camel, REST API, JMS (Active MQ or similar), SQL, and enterprise monitoring will make your application stand out.
- A knowledge of capital markets — including pricing, trade execution workflows, and key vendor systems like ION, TradeWeb, or Bloomberg — would be highly valued.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
If this sounds like you, I look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks and best regards,
Dheeraj Galav
