Meet the Team

Our AI Practice at MongoDB is dedicated to driving success by turning innovative ideas into practical AI applications. We’re seeing an increasing demand for our hands-on technical expertise in AI and modern data solutions. To meet this demand, we’re creating a specialized AI engineering practice that collaborates directly with our most strategic customers. Together, we’ll rapidly prototype, refine, and deploy scalable AI systems utilizing MongoDB Atlas. We’re on the lookout for passionate, customer-focused AI engineers who want to co-create impactful and iterative solutions with our cutting-edge technologies.

What You’ll Do:

• Immerse yourself with key customers, gaining insights into their business strategies, challenges, and technical needs in the AI realm.
• Design and implement end-to-end AI solutions using an iterative, experimental mindset.
• Define project scopes, deliverables, and actionable plans for both quick prototypes and large-scale deployments.
• Collaborate closely with customer engineering teams to develop scalable, secure, and high-performance AI solutions.
• Leverage MongoDB Atlas, cloud technologies, and generative AI to prototype and iterate solutions.
• Provide technical leadership to ensure quality, architectural alignment, and successful outcomes for customers.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging AI technologies, integrating the latest trends into customer solutions.
• Work alongside our Sales teams, Solution Architects, Product, and Professional Services to deliver impactful solutions that drive significant business results.
• Share your knowledge internally by creating resources, best practices, and reusable assets to enhance MongoDB’s broader AI capabilities.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• 5+ years of experience in software development, customer engineering, or solution architecture, with at least 2 years focused on AI solutions.
• Strong customer-oriented mindset and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences.
• Experience in building full-stack applications, with back-end development in Python, Node.js, or Java, and front-end development using frameworks like React, Angular, or Next.js.
• A solid understanding of AI solutions like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and large language models (LLMs) for real-time applications.
• Hands-on experience deploying scalable AI applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with modern development practices, including CI/CD, test-driven development, and microservices architecture.
• Proven ability to navigate fast-paced, high-ambiguity projects and develop clear, measurable solutions.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% to engage directly with our strategic customers.

Bonus Points For:

• An advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields.
• R&D experience in data science or AI/ML, particularly across various AI domains (agentic, discriminative, perceptual, conversational, reinforcement, etc.) including data processing, optimization, prompt engineering, model validation, and fine-tuning.
• Knowledge of AI ethics, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Proficiency in additional languages like Spanish, Italian, German, or Mandarin.
