Position: Early Childhood Teacher (ACDP)
Are you passionate about nurturing the minds of young learners? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at our Early Learn – Early Childhood Education centers in the Bronx. This full-time role is all about supporting our little ones, from infants to preschoolers, in their early learning journey.
What You’ll Do:
- Bring engaging, age-appropriate curriculum to life for our students aged 0-2 and preschoolers.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and orderly classroom environment where kids can thrive.
- Collaborate closely with our Education Director, Assistant Teacher, and operations team to create a rich, developmentally appropriate experience for every child.
- Foster strong, positive relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them involved in their children’s learning.
- Keep up with necessary documentation according to our organizational policies and department requirements.
- Use effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning space.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education, ideally with a ‘Birth to Grade 2’ certification (if you’re in the process of completing an advanced degree or obtaining some certification, that’s okay too!).
- A solid understanding of the principles and practices of Head Start or similar child development programs, as well as a background in early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Recent proof of a physical exam (including a tuberculosis test) and compliance with any required background checks from the Agency and/or DOHMH licensing.
- Experience working with children within the age group you’ll be teaching.
- Personal qualities essential to early childhood education: emotional maturity, a cooperative spirit, respect for both kids and adults, flexibility, patience, and good personal hygiene. Your physical and mental health should support your duties without any interference.
- Experience or education in working with parents to support their children’s education is a plus.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is negotiable and will depend on your education, licensure, and relevant experience.
