Job title: Child Care UPK 3 Teacher – East 46th, Manhattan
Company: Bright Horizons Family Solutions
Job description:
Position: Pre-K 3 Teacher – Universal Pre-K (UPK)
Are you ready to embrace a role where your enthusiasm for education and child development can truly make a difference? As a Universal Pre-K Teacher at Bright Horizons, you’ll craft a lively and supportive atmosphere where young minds can explore and flourish. Your mission? To develop and implement a creative curriculum that gets our 4- and 5-year-olds all set for their exciting journey into kindergarten, while celebrating and nurturing their unique talents and backgrounds.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design interactive, hands-on activities that not only cater to the interests of our children but also lay the groundwork for their kindergarten success.
- Keep the lines of communication open with parents, sharing the amazing milestones their little ones achieve every day.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by adhering to essential protocols and guidelines.
Who We’re Looking For:
To join our vibrant community, you’ll need to meet a few qualifications:
- You must be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or GED.
- While we prefer candidates with at least a year of experience in childcare, daycare, or preschool settings, we value a genuine love for teaching above all.
- A solid understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) for young children is essential.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required, alongside valid early childhood certifications such as Birth-Grade 2 or Nursery-6.
- If you hold a credential from an out-of-state teacher accrediting organization, it should be reciprocated by the New York State Education Department.
- A two-year documented experience in a relevant early childhood program can substitute for certain educational requirements, depending on your current employment status in a licensed childcare service.
Join us in creating a nurturing space that fosters children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Work collaboratively with an enthusiastic team to engage young learners and help shape them into tomorrow’s leaders. At Bright Horizons, you’ll discover a workplace where your individuality is celebrated. Ready to take the next step? We invite you to apply today!
Physical Requirements:
This role does require adherence to all necessary health and safety protocols, including immunizations and physical screenings. You’ll be actively involved in a preschool environment to supervise the children and implement our curriculum following Bright Horizons’ guidelines. Being mentally and physically alert is key — you’ll need energy to meet the demands of the day and respond swiftly to various situations. You’ll also engage in a full range of motions, which means lifting, reaching, squatting, and being actively involved in activities with the kids. Expect to lift children weighing anywhere from 10 to 40 pounds, and occasionally handle heavier weights. Bright Horizons is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualifying disabilities and pregnancy-related needs.
Compensation:
For this position, the hourly pay ranges from $29.58 to $35.96. We believe in transparency, and this range reflects what Bright Horizons anticipates offering. Actual compensation will be influenced by your experience, education, certifications, location, and relevant factors.
Benefits:
We’re proud to offer a variety of benefits to our team members, subject to eligibility:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- A 401(k) retirement plan
- Life insurance options
- Short-term and long-term disability insurance
- Exciting career development programs, including free college degrees through our Horizons CDA & Degree Program
Life at Bright Horizons:
Our employees are at the heart of what we do. We’re just as invested in your growth as we are in the children, families, and communities we serve. Join us in building a brighter future!
