We’re excited to welcome a Visual Arts Teacher to our team, starting in August 2025. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with middle school students and is enthusiastic about the power of art to transform lives.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Inspire and guide students through engaging visual arts programs, encouraging exploration and creativity.
- Help students progress in their artistic skills while building meaningful connections with each individual.
- Create a welcoming classroom environment where diversity is embraced and each student’s unique perspective is celebrated.
- Foster a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging through your approach to teaching and learning.
Who Are You?
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Visual Arts, or a related field—and if you have a Master’s degree, even better!
- You come with at least three years of hands-on visual arts teaching experience in a middle school setting, and ideally, you have experience with the MYP framework.
- You find joy in teaching and are passionate about supporting the IB philosophy in your classroom.
- You’re skilled at adapting your teaching to meet a variety of student needs, showing excellent communication abilities—both written and verbal.
- You’re tech-savvy and know how to thoughtfully weave technology into your lessons.
- You’re ready to positively contribute to the Dwight community, embracing diverse perspectives and experiences.
- You bring a mix of joy, kindness, maturity, humor, hard work, and flexibility to the school environment.
