We believe that establishing public trust and promoting compliance is vital, and we strive to do this while offering exceptional customer service every step of the way.
Our Finance Information Technology (FIT) Division plays a critical role in this mission. We design, build, and support all aspects of our computer systems—think hardware, software, applications, infrastructure, telephone systems, and data security. Your experience in safeguarding classified data and maintaining the integrity of our systems—generating revenues of $35 billion annually—is crucial to our mission.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a comprehensive Cyber Security program, guiding diverse teams in areas such as Cyber Security operations, governance, risk and compliance, security engineering, incident management, and more.
- Ensure high-quality information security management across the agency that aligns with our business goals.
- Establish audit and compliance practices to guarantee adherence to regulatory Cybersecurity requirements while managing policies and control frameworks that protect our systems and data.
- Facilitate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including legal teams, audit departments, and city agencies.
- Develop and manage complex, multi-year initiatives that bolster our security program while overseeing budget allocations and project execution.
- Implement disaster recovery policies in line with our business continuity management goals, acknowledging that many of our critical business processes may go beyond our corporate boundaries.
- Design secure application architectures and network security measures for classified data.
- Create both strategic and tactical solutions for secure cloud-based services.
- Develop methodologies for code testing, validation, and vulnerability management across all DOF applications.

- Cultivate strong partnerships with the Office of Technology and other mayoral entities, as well as law enforcement agencies.
Qualifications:
- You bring at least six years of progressive, full-time experience in supervising or managing computer operations in a large-scale mainframe, network, or multi-tier environment. Among those six years, a minimum of 18 months must be in an administrative, managerial, or executive role.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution can substitute for up to two years of experience mentioned above. If you do not have a degree, we may consider undergraduate credits, equating 30 semester credits to six months of experience.
- A master’s degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Public Administration can count for up to a year of the aforementioned experience. Graduate credits can also be considered under similar conditions.
